  • Requirement of substation electrical safety requirements & special locations like battery rooms requirements
  • Flameproof Electrical equipments selection & installation & maintenance in Hazardous Areas
  • Lightning risk assessment & lightning protection design for buildings /structures
  • Safe electrical energy isolation procedures (LOTO) in HV /MV/LV installations
  • Selection & maintenance of electrical PPEs
The course module has been designed with regards to the provisions of the following regulations:
1. Indian Electricity Act, 2003
2. Electricity Amendment Act, 2007
3. CEA Regulations, 2015
4. Indian Electricity Rules,1956.
5. National Electrical Code (India)
6. I.S. Specifications & Codes of Practice for the electrical system and equipments, especially IS 5216 and IS 1646
7. OSHA under 29 CFR (Code of Federal Regulations)1910.
8. NFPA safety requirements.

Course Director: Dr. A.M. Salsingikar. He is the product of IIT- Bombay, a Chartered Engineer & an Accredited Electrical Safety Auditor, has over 50 years of professional experience in the field of Electrical System Operation & Maintenance, Electrical Safety Management & Training for risk minimization. He is a retired Dy.GM (Elec. Safety & Training ) from Reliance Energy Ltd. and he is specialized in creating the Safety Culture among the people by conducting safety audits and training programmes through case studies about the provisions and enforcement of Electricity Act, Rules & fixing responsibility for violation of Electricity laws under IE Act & Rules, CEA Regulations & Indian Penal Codes. A highlight of his career includes conducting electrical safety training and audits for many prestigious organizations in the country. With his wide experience in electrical safety of commercial, industrial, government, and utility systems he will guide the delegates in safety techniques that can be used in promoting the safety culture. Because he is a practicing engineer (Chartered Engineer), the delegates will be able to draw the knowledge in electrical safety from the instructor's current real world experience.
